Winning with Miss Dorset

I was thrilled to be invited to do the hair and makeup for Samantha Bumford who is the current Miss Dorset and was competing for the Miss England Social Media title. The event was held at the Genting Hotel in July.

We had a discussion before the competition and agreed that a ‘Red Carpet Oscar’ style look would showcase her beautiful features and reflect the glamour of the occasion. Samantha’s chosen charity is The Assisted Dog’s Association and she wanted to somehow incorporate that in her finished look.

Believe me, even as a professional makeup artist, that was quite a creative challenge! But I came up with the idea of using a paw print (of the jewelled variety) as a hair accessory which looked stunning against her blonde hair.

We were both delighted when she won.
