I have always been passionate and had a creative flair for
art, I decided to become a professional make-up artist after
completing my art degree.
I realised I had a talent for make up whilst
working for Estee lauder as a part-time make up artist
whilst studying for my degree.
I then decided to move to London where I attended Greasepaint
- International School of television, film and theatre. Here
I gained extensive training where I qualified in all aspects
of make-up and hair styling. I am also an NVQ Level 2 qualified hairdresser.
Whilst working in the make-up field I gained
much experience in the television industry working on programmes
such as Bloomberg News and the Community Channel. I have
also worked extensively in film and theatre.
As well as my Television, film and theatre work I have gained
experience in fashion make-up working on
shoots for Impact Model Management and various magazines and
photoshoots for companies such as TK Maxx, Sainsbury’s, Lion TV and Skoda.
I have been featured in a reality TV show called Hired
or Fired on Sky TV Channel - Red. Demonstrating my expertise
in make-up and hair. You can see all of my videos here.
One of the most rewarding things I have done is giving careers
talks to potential future make-up artists at Birmingham City
College
I have kept up with the latest product knowledge by working
for Estee Lauder companies such as Lauder, Stila, Bobby Brown
and Prescriptives. I have also been trained by MAC on
all there techniques including foundation airbrushing.
Like all of my other make-up work I have
found a keen interest in Bridal make-up and hair
styling, and now find this the most rewarding part
of my career. Making other people feel special on what
is the most important day of their lives.
I have since relocated back to Birmingham (West
Midlands) where I have obtained my own hair salon,
Salon G. I now maintain a balance of working between
my freelance make-up work and my salon.
I have had the pleasure of working with Celebrity Chef Rosmary Shrager, Zoe Salmon, Gemma Cairney from Channel 4’s Frock Me programme and most recently GMTV stylist Mark Heyes for TK Maxx’s red nose day makeover 2011.
I can cover all areas of the country but some travel expenses
maybe charged depending on distance.
